Rogue Galaxy ( God of Destiny's personal reveiw )

- The great worlds design makes the game exciting
- Very deep and interesting and also easy custimazation
- Up to 8 playable characters
- Great story, with a big number of side-quests
- Characters look fantastic and the game sounds fantastic too
- Combining weapons becomes interesting
- Action-packed combat can be challanging
- Also a variaty of different costumes

Negative
- Frequent enemies appearance can become painful
- In most boss battles you need to keep using the same attacks

Rogue Galaxy is the real deal. Never played a better RPG. Better than Final Fantasy X and XII. Level-5 are the best RPG makers and Square-Enix of course. Level-5 are the creators of Dark Cloud 1 and 2 and Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. The Dark Cloud series isn't TURN-BASED and so isn't Rogue Galaxy. Why am I saying this? Because Dragon Quest VIII is. Next year Level-5 will released a Fantasy Turn-Based game on the PS3 under the name White Knight Story. The date is not specified yet.

But let me talk about Rogue Galaxy. One of Rogue Galaxy best things are the great designed environment and worlds. Most of the time you will have to travel through space in a pirate ship. Also the custimazation is incredible deep and easy also. You'll be using this for getting abiliities. It's so simply that very young children can figure out. You just need to have the item he want like a rose or a elixir. Unlike Final Fantasy X's custimazation is sooooooo complicated. It took me hours to figure out. But I'm not really a Final Fantasy fan. The story also keeps you at the edge of your seat and your eyes to the screen. The story is exciting and thrilling but it dosen't make much sense. The party is up to 8 characters and can change characters when wanted. Like Dark Cloud you have to upgrade weapons, but this time you need to have 2 weapons at stats MAX and then combine them together. The two weapon much be almost the same levels. This game is a great example of Level-5 great visual designs. Characters look better than Final Fantasy for sure. And Rogue Galaxy's music is simply fantastic. The combat system is also unique because it's Action-Packed. But what does Action-Packed mean? Unlike Dark Cloud 2 you won't see a monster alone. This time monsters attack you in group and you want see them coming. But the game gives you a warning when they are coming. It's also different i prefer this kinda combat. No need to stay on guard all the time and the great variaty of enemies, combat never seems to become repetitive. But it gets a little repetitive. Rogue Galaxy consists of 13 chapter and all chapter have a boss battle, except chapter 12. But chapter 13 has 10 bosses. Well not bosses. Only 5. Two of them will be all the party where you fight a monster. Later 5 of them are against robots. Only one character each. The last three are the real bosses. I heard that one of them is very easy. But the other 2 are a pain.

But the frequent appearance of enemies, that what make combat repetitive. Especially enemies in chapter 12 appear every 10/ 20 metre walk. But chapter 12 dosen't have boss battles. Good thing. In many boss battles there is only one way to beat him. In one chapter i had to use the same attacks against a big boss because I had very little resources and my 2 allies were very weak. But Rogue Galaxy is a game that shouldn't be missed. if you're an RPG fan, make a favour to yourself and play ROGUE GALAXY !!!!!!!!!!

this game is good but its way too repetative.the random combat pisses me off so much!

probobly only for hardcore rpgers

what are you talking about? you don't know the meaning of hardcore RPG fans. most hardcore rpg are mostly turn-based like disgaea or final fantasy x. Rogue Galaxy is easier than dark cloud. dark cloud took me 80 to finish till chapter 8 and rogue galaxy only 30 hours till chapter 12

i mean the fighting...its boring!

could have spiced it up a bit by not putting so many random encounters

Finally i've beaten the game. Rogue Galaxy that is. Tymon take my advice, don't play. The last chapter 10 bosses toke me 40 minutes and i use 50 heal potions, 13 tri-heal and 7 max heal and 1 perfect heal. The bosses aren't straight forward as i though, but i still did it.

leave the fact that I"VE BEATEN ROGUE GALAXY, and rogue galaxy is harder than Dark Cloud 2

no thanks. In Rogue Galaxy after beating the final boss, he saves but the last boss remains there, same with DC 2. The final boss of chapter 8 isn't saved. But in RG there is a mystery ship, ghost ship. FUll of bosses. I kinda like it there

it's not hard but it is repetitive, but its a really great game, best action RPG on the PS2
